About Us

The Maurice Mbowo Foundation is a non- profit society that works among children and youth in Kenya.

Mr. Maurice Mbowo brief history

Maurice Olum Mbowo was born and raised up in Kibra slum. He is the fourth born in a family of six siblings.

Maurice played professional football in Kenyan premier league; he played for Gor Mahia, Kibra United, Minicas and Dandora all Stars in 2006- 2008, before venturing into coaching. Currently, he is the director of Express Soccer Academy and President of Maurice Mbowo Foundation.

Maurice started the foundation to give hope to the hopeless children, youth and women. Through soccer, the organization runs community projects to alleviate suffering and poverty in Kibra, Bondo and Laikipia. He envisaged a society where children and young people will use football to advance education, use their talents and potential positively to transform their communities.

Our community initiatives are in education, talent development, mentorship and economic empowerment.
